Marketing Insight to Grow your Business

About Papercut Marketing December 4, 2007

After years of slaving away in various, unsurprisingly similar cubicles of corporate America I decided it was time for this girl to break loose and set up shop on my own. As much as I love the smell of capitalism in the morning and the taste of cheap coffee, at the end of the day I much prefer the idea of pocketing the revenue I earn rather than padding the wallets of executives sitting in the corner office.

Although I wouldn’t trade my new freelance writing gig for the world, I am thankful that I spent time working in structured, corporate business environments. My talent for writing is natural, but the invaluable marketing and PR experience I gained throughout my career took some sweat and tears (literally) and is largely thanks to working among mentors and experts in the field. Bouncing ideas around with upper management at major corporations and creating and executing marketing and PR plans from the ground up for floundering businesses taught me how to understand a company from the inside out and, in turn, better promote them from the outside in.

I started Papercut Marketing in July of 2007 with little more than a passion for writing, an internet connection and the belief that I could achieve my dream of becoming a successful freelancer. I have already had the good fortune to work with a variety of clients and I am eager to continue to build my customer base.

I plan to utilize this blog to share my insights into the changing world of marketing and PR and to just rant and rave about life and work in general.

Best wishes to you in your new business and hey, I’d be interested in hearing how it’s been working for you and too, how you’ve been working for it as well.

      Peace today.
